LASIK SURGERY Dr. Richard Apt is an expert refractive surgeon who has performed thousands of procedures since Lasik was approved by the FDA in 1996. Lasik is a two step procedure that can correct near sightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia. First a flap must be created using the Intralase Laser, this is followed by the reshaping of the cornea with the Allegretto Laser.
